All of our lobsters are sustainably harvested from the Gulf of Maine, from the icy Downeast waters to the Mid-Coast, and help support a local Maine economy that employs thousands of hard-workers. The cousins launched their first Food Truck in April of 2012, and later appeared on Shark Tank where they partnered with shark, Barbara Corcoran. Since then, Cousins Maine Lobster has expanded into 16 major U.S. Cities with twenty-eight food trucks, and four brick & mortar restaurants. Internationally, Cousins Maine Lobster has expanded into Asia, with 3 brick & mortar restaurants in Taiwan. Since 2012, we have been continually featured on the most influential entrepreneurial and culinary programming, including Shark Tank, The Food Network, The Chew, Good Morning America, CNBC, and the Cooking Network. Cousins Maine Lobster was Co-Founded by Sabin Lomac and Jim Tselikis in 2012 after a burgeoning food truck industry collided with the desire to bring their local Maine family traditions to the West Coast masses. Growing up in Portland-- huge pots of lobster boiling in the backyard, buttery ears of corn, and picnic tables built for 8, but seating 10 messy, bibbed kids elbow deep in steaming hot lobster, served as the inspiration for their idea-- authentic cuisine provided affordably and efficiently to areas never before thought possible. In 2013, Jim and Sabin founded Cousins for a Cause, a non-profit entity partnered with Big Brothers Big Sisters of America, Los Angeles, a charitable endeavor aimed at giving back to local communities and growing the awareness of “family” and “service” throughout the country. In 2016, Sabin was voted National Big Brother of the Year by Big Brothers Big Sisters of America.
